Decondition Your Fear
of Mortality
by Tracking Pleasure
in the Body!

David Salih

“The Ecstasy of Impermanence was a powerful journey!

Lee masterfully guided us through spaces of mind, heart, body , and spirit that brilliantly landed us into a profound, new, and provocative awareness of what it is to be an infinite being temporarily incarnated into form.

This experience gave me a deep dive in how I might better navigate this world with that awareness more graciously, with more ease, and more eroticism!”

Dale Jensen

The Ecstasy of Impermanence opened me to a sustained, embodied experience of love and connection I had never known before.”

About the Retreat

Ecstasy of Impermanence is an embodied, death-literate retreat rooted in somatics, tantra, mysticism, and community. This work uses the living body—not doctrine or belief—as the primary teacher for cultivating intimacy with all of life, including dying.

Participants will safely learn to:

  • Be with all of you.
  • Receive from the intelligence of YOUR body.
  • Feel yourself as infinite.
  • Begin to trust your system.
  • Unwind ever so gently, barriers that keep you from the rapture of aliveness.
  • Experience the village in and around you.

As we enter the body with gentleness, curiosity, and spaciousness, we step outside linear, productivity-driven cultural conditioning and loosen our allegiance to the mind’s inherited stories. We turn instead toward self-presence, self-guidance, and deep listening—modes of knowing that attune us to our infinite nature.

Turning Inward with Support

Overview

Through introspective movement and meditation, as well as partnered and group-based practices drawn from somatic and tantric lineages, we are immersed in a coherent group field that supports nervous-system trust, sensory aliveness, and nourishing connection. All exercises are experiential, non-performative, and self-paced.

These experiences are designed to help us more fully inhabit our form and, paradoxically, touch our infinity. We use the fact of our impermanence as an organizing principle—one that enhances gratitude, reverence, and awe for the generosity of this moment. By settling into the exquisiteness of the now, we play in the realms of bliss together. As we do, we begin to decondition our fear of mortality through direct contact with the wisdom in the body and the abundant field around us.

The Three Pillars

You are warmly invited to join me for a three day transformational experience that brings you into deeper intimacy with life and death, through the portal of your own body.  This work is true alchemy nested within a safe and loving context with experienced guides and heartful  new friends.

Somatic Practices

It is our birthright to have a tangible, felt sense of our own divinity. As we tune into the body’s innate intelligence, we awaken this experience through body-based meditations, authentic movement, and somatic attunement. Guided by practices such as slowing down, tracking pleasure, enlivening life force, heart and breath coherence, and sound practices like humming, chanting, or singing, we discover flow state, which opens layers of knowing within. We also learn to ride the natural waves of emotion—including fear and grief—as they arise.

NOTE: No previous movement experience is necessary but a willingness to be connected with your body, your intuition, and sense of experimentation and play are required. Folks with mobility challenges are welcome; you choose your level of engagement based on your capacity.

Mystical Practices

It’s always been the job of the mystics to remind us that the fear of death is an illusion. That in fact, death is a friend. Through heart- and soul-centered prompts, poetry, and contemplation, inviting eros into the our places of challenge, we’re invited into gentle inquiry and reflection—opening ways of knowing that often lie beyond the rational mind. As we explore how our archetypal selves move in relationship with the boundlessness of creation; we unwind, organically, softening the barriers that keep us from the rapture of aliveness. This is an invitation into the right hemisphere’s vast and imaginal realm—a trapdoor to the eternal—where images and guidance arise to support us.

Note: This work draws from tantric and mystical lineages that understand eros as the animating intelligence of life itself. Eros is defined not as sexuality, but as aliveness, sensation, longing, and intimacy with existence.

Community Practices

Community is a central pillar of this retreat. Through consent-based partner work, small-group exploration, inner–outer circle guided relating, and whole-group dialogue, participants enter supportive spaces that invite deep settling—through a lived experience of co-regulation, belonging, and safety within the context of our vulnerable humanity. Practices may also include facilitated Zegg Forum (a group integration process), platonic touch, and dance, offering multiple pathways for engagement.

Note: In community, we are reflected and informed by the processes of other humans who, like us, will die. This is invaluable: the living wisdom of the group grounds our insights, helps us metabolize our discoveries, and allows transformation to take root in the whole of who we are.

We are exquisitely intertwined in the heart of the collective. This means that your liberation is my liberation; your unfolding is my unfolding; your softening is my softening.

The Marriage of Death & Tantra

The Ecstasy of Impermanence is an inside investigation. It is…..

  • A mystery school devoted to our highest self.
  • A deeply personal and experiential practice.
  • An experiment in the emergent field.
  • A medicine journey without an external substance.

I define Tantra as learning tune our instrument (our body/mind) to the highest frequency we can so that we can ride the waves of life and death with more alignment, grace, and trust.

It is through awakening our subtle energies that we can effectively unwind the patterns in us that no longer serve. We do that through micro-movement, tracking pleasure, breath, and sound.

The body is the portal to all wisdom. By engaging it, we access a mystical framework that is designed to help us more fully inhabit our form and paradoxically touch our infinity. It is here we can embrace life’s impermanence.

There is nothing outside of ourselves,
that can bring us in touch with true knowing!

Prepare to…..

  • Revel in your form while also dissolving into the infinite.
  • Track sensation, follow desire as a living compass, restore trust in your system.
  • Expand your capacity to feel grief, pleasure, fear, and love—and remain present in Self.
  • Play in the realms of coherence.
  • Become both a spiritual animal—discovering ecstasy through the contemplation of mortality.
  • Dwell in and savor your birthright of belonging—to yourself, to others, to the field, to the great mystery of life and death.
  • Really feel, in your senses and body, that you are not separate from anything or anyone.

This work is experiential, relational, non-performative, and self-paced.

“So many of us fill our lives being busy with supporting others. Really, we can all benefit from the experience of pausing, breathing, and being in the presence of an exceptional coach and guide. Lee’s support has helped deepen my own journey.”

– Patrick Davis

Business Coach

Hi, I’m Lee Warren

I am a Death and Tantra educator and counsellor, somatic guide, embodiment practitioner, and author of Dying Together: The Art of Community Deathcare due out in Fall of 2026.

For more than a decade I’ve been offered courses on end-of-life, community, and sacred embodiment. My work empowers people to transform the fear of mortality into intimacy with existence by blending practical and mystical approaches that unravel death phobic cultural narratives.

These practices live at the intersection of death and Tantra, which encourages us to use the sacred vehicle of our bodies to explore the blueprint of our own divinity.

As death becomes sacred, so too does all of life.

Fueled by personal presence and the potent group field—held in an awareness of soul-guided mortality—we play in the realms of bliss together.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this program for?

It’s for absolutely everyone. I work with humans who die. And specifically those who are interested in reframing death as a teacher and a gift.

It is for anyone seeking a deeper connection to themselves, life, and a creative approach to considering death.

In order to settle into this course more quickly, it’s helpful to have an embodiment practice of some kind, but not necessary. Having a body is enough.

No prior experience with death education or movement practices is required—just an open heart/mind and a willingness to explore.

Is this a course, a meditation, a journey, or an experiment?

Yes. Yes. Yes. and Yes.

Thanks for asking!

It is not a traditional “course,” but more of an embodied encounter with the sacred and a communal experiment in transformation!

It is a guided path in somatic movement, mystical contemplation, and group field engagement. It’s a dynamic and emergent container, working with subtle energies, that is designed to help us more fully inhabit our form and paradoxically touch our infinity.

I’ve never done anything like this before. Will I feel lost?

Not at all. This is about deeply listening to your self. The exploration is designed to meet you where you are. The practices are intuitive and self-directed and very slow moving, allowing you to move at your own pace. The wave patterns of movement are available in any position and the goal is to listen to and follow your inner guidance. I create a space for an inquiry and you get to choose your level of depth and engagement.

Is this practice appropriate for people grieving or facing terminal illness?

Yes, this practice can be profoundly supportive for those grieving or navigating their own mortality. Ideally you will have a diverse and grounded support system outside of this container, but here the guidance is gentle and allows for deep, personal exploration. If you’re in a particularly tender space, you’re encouraged to engage with the material at your own pace and capacity. In addition to the support provided in this container, additional  support from your own circle of care is helpful.

Why the Focus on Death?

Humans are the only creatures who cognitively grasp that they will die.

Resisting this truth gives rise to an increase in existential and survival terror, which in turn shape the death-phobic, death-illiterate cultural milieu from which most of us have emerged. Yet when we meet the fact of our temporary nature in the context of love, belonging, and even joy, something shifts. We begin to tap into the brilliance and perfection of this design.

Beneath habits of denial, avoidance, and fear, the beautiful patterns of the life–death–life cycle are mirrored in our very cells and in every aspect of our lived experience. As we start to embrace what once felt like an unbearable paradox, we have access to the realms of ecstasy.

This is a mystery school devoted to becoming, belonging, and learning to trust deeply in our own impermanence. As death becomes sacred, so too does all of life.

Why the Focus on the Body?

At the moment of death, no matter who surrounds us, it is ultimately a journey with ourselves. Preparing for death requires strengthening the primary relationship between spirit and matter—between body and soul. In Tantra, this is known as the sacred marriage, and it calls for intimacy with all that is—everything we are and everything we have been given, both light and dark. There is no information outside ourselves that can deliver this intimacy; it is an inside investigation. In truth, the body already holds everything we need to live—and to die—well. With attention and attunement, the body reveals these codes.

As we enter the body together with gentleness, curiosity, and spaciousness, we step outside linear, productivity-driven cultural conditioning and loosen our allegiance to the mind’s inherited stories. We turn instead toward self-presence, self-guidance, and deep listening—modes of knowing that attune us to our infinite nature.

The practices of micro and nourishing movement open the pathways of subtle energy in the body unblock the rivers of life. Here we encounter that the primordial pulse of life moves through everything, connecting us to all that is.

On What Lineage of Tantra is this Work Based?

This work is based on a blend of both ancient and new Tantra practices with important input from sacred geometry, quantum field research, esoteric aspects of myofascial, somatic trauma unwinding, Continuum movement,  ancient and new alchemy, and emerging mystic pathways to the divine.

There is a throughline in many of these traditions and it is this: Through a soft awakening of our subtle energies, we can more fully inhabit our form and paradoxically touch our infinity.

From there we step outside of cultural ways of learning, we move past linearity, and bypass the limitations of the mind to access a deeper, more mystical understanding of ourselves and find more trust and ease around life’s impermanence.
